  • Part 3: Being an Ally: Employees will learn what it means to be an ally and how to create a safe space in the workplace.

Our Pride Workplace Training Learning Objectives:

The objective of this course is to foster open communication and a workplace culture where employees who identify as LGBTQ2+ feel safe and respected, and co-workers are strong allies.

  • Enhance understanding of the issues and barriers faced by the 2SLGBTQI+ community. Including the dangers and inequities faced by individuals who identify as LGBTQ2+, and the laws in place to protect those who identify as LGBTQ2+
  • Increase knowledge on 2SLGBTQI+ history, phobias, myths, stereotypes, and heterosexism
  • Understand the terms, language and pronouns related to the many identities of the 2SLGBTQI+ community
  • Develop skills to help create a more respectful, welcoming, and inclusive working environment for employees who identify as 2SLGBTQI+
  • Learn what it means to be an ally and how to create a safe space in the workplace for 2SLGBTQI+ co-workers

An Ally is anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, whose attitude and behaviour is anti-heterosexist and who works toward combating homophobia, heterosexism, and transphobia both on a personal and workplace level.
