Resiliency keeps amygdala hijack (an immediate overwhelming personal, emotional response) in check. It is the antidote to fear, worry, stress, and anxiety.
A mature personality quality, resiliency creates a healthy psychological ability to bounce back from setback, fears, or disappointments. It is natural for some, but everyone can learn to be more resilient than they are right now.
Being a resilient person gives a realistic optimism in times of adversity that says, “this too shall pass.” Resiliency allows you to move past the discomforting times of the now, and onto the possibilities of the future.
