What is an Ally?
An Ally is anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, whose attitude and behaviour is anti-heterosexist and who works toward combating homophobia, heterosexism, and transphobia both on a personal and workplace level.
- Include standards and expected behaviours towards 2SLGBTQI+ employees in Anti-harassment and Anti-discrimination workplace policies
- Take 2SLGBTQI+ discrimination seriously
- Offer employee benefit packages that are 2SLGBTQI+ inclusive
- Ensure HR staff are invested in the care and well-being of 2SLGBTQI+ employees
- Provide Diversity and Inclusion training to all staff
- Lead with an inclusive management team
- Develop support programs for 2SLGBTQI+ employees
- Encourage and promote allyship of 2SLGBTQI+ employees
- Create equal opportunities for all team members
- Develop a workplace culture of inclusion
- Foster a gender-neutral workplace environment
- Support 2SLGBTQI+ community social events and initiatives
